easter sunday benediction
my tithes and offering for today, cause have you seen these DAMN gas prices.

ruby red pews filled to the brim, with mothers, brothers, sisters, and all kin sinners alike.
pastor hooting and hollering to the congregation in the most “christlike,” cause when have we ever gentle parented our way to salvation, right?
sister stephanie breastfeeding her new baby, while her parents sit uptight. i wonder what keeps them both up at night.
old manthers ready to poach off these young girls glow, with a new hip term or from a sleazy hand as her hip squirms.
today aunties wear their best kept brooch, while they stand still as their husbands take jabs with yet another ruthless joke.
a baby screaming for love and attention, while two young teen parents sit in quiet reflection.
grandma comes to cradle lil baby quentin’s soft skin, patience running thin, as she and her son both begin to wonder what would have been if either of them used protection.
all the while, this guy on the keys cuts through the tensions with melodies that ascend beyond this dimension.
each soul came today to praise God for what he has shown he can do in and beyond this holy convocation.
but once this benediction’s through, we all seem to scramble like roaches from these ruby red pews, cause we dread breaking bread with folks like you and me.
until next time earthlings, peace and love <3
